Your private party ‘room’ is a train carriage Cafeteria Car

This carriage was built in 1947 at the South Australian Railways Islington Workshops, initially used on the East-West Express between Adelaide and Port Pirie and restored by Museum volunteers. This wonderful carriage oozes with character and is situated within the heart of the Museum. Bring your own party food and drinks and decorations to suit the occasion. Party package and how much does it cost

Weekend (Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays) Birthday Party Package

For the fee of $300, you get exclusive use of the carriage for up to 30 people and access to the Museum and its attractions, including free train rides, between 10:30am and 3:30pm. No guests over the 30-person limit are permitted (and this includes hosts and the birthday person). For events with more than 30 people, please contact the Museum to make a separate Function Hire booking. 

The carriage comes with catering facilities i.e. fridges, pie warmer, microwave, jug and is air-conditioned. You are permitted to bring decorations but they must not mark or damage the carriage. Party is self-catered. Alcohol is NOT PERMITTED.
